Hubtel Introduced a New SMS and Money Feature some few months back that will make Businesses Receive Payments.

Hubtel is an on demand eCommerce platform that organizes sales operations in-store, online, and on mobile devices. It assists companies in managing payments and contact with consumers, among other things. Users’ favorite daily commodities, such as gadgets, fashion accessories, apparel, food, and more, can be purchased using the platform. Products will be delivered within minutes to hours using Hubtel. It was established in Ghana and Kenya in 2005 and has offices in both countries.

In the most recent edition of its product updates, Hubtel, Ghana’s largest provider of bulk SMS messaging services, has announced new capabilities that allow customers to collect payments and transfer money to as many contacts as they want at the same time through SMS.

Hubtel’s Head of Product, Patrick Asare-Frimpong, said in a statement announcing the development,

“In Ghana, mobile money and bank accounts are the most common ways to send and receive money.”
“This primarily serves person-to-person payments, but for businesses who need to collect payment from many people at the same time, such as schools, churches, estate managers, and alumni groups, taking payments to a mobile money number often creates some problems. It can be very time-consuming and hard to track who has paid and who hasn’t. “

“We have solved this problem by upgrading our bulk SMS messaging to make it simple for anyone who needs to collect payments from many people to simply alert them via SMS to pay.”

“Each SMS has a unique code and a payment link to pay for any amount. This new update will save our users a lot of time chasing people to make payments. It’s perfect for schools, churches, associations, social media groups, estate managers, and businesses in general, “he added.”

Additionally, payments can be accepted from a large number of individuals through SMS. Users can transfer money to an unlimited number of users using a unique withdrawal code, allowing the money to be withdrawn instantaneously from any bank account.
Event planners, for example, who collaborate with a wide range of vendors and providers while organizing an event, may find this function very useful.

When transferring money, the event organizer can easily set specified amounts to be sent to individual cell phone numbers in a contact list rather than send the whole amount at once.

How to Send and Track Payments Using Hubtel’s SMS and Money Features

After showing several customers how to use the functionality, Patrick Asare-Frimpong said that “using SMS & Money to transfer, receive, and track payments is just as straightforward as sending a bulk SMS in five easy steps.

  • Organize your contact information in Microsoft Excel.
  • Upload your spreadsheet file and start writing your SMS. Personalize your message by including specific information about each recipient (for example, name, contribution type, amount to pay).
  • Pay attention to the payment features: you may select whether to accept or refuse installment payments.
  • Send SMS messages at the lowest possible cost of 2p (GH0.02) for each message.
  • Keep track of who has paid and follow up with those who haven’t.

Hubtel’s mobile apps for iOS and Android, as well as the Hubtel website at Hubtel Bulk SMS have been updated with the new version.

Conclusion
As the world’s first messaging technology platform to provide this kind of service, Hubtel marks a significant milestone. Since its founding in 2005, the company’s major objective has been to make it simpler for companies to engage with their audience. According to the Bank of Ghana, Hubtel is now in charge of about 8.3% of all successful mobile money transfers in Ghana. There are a lot more transactions the company will be able to process because of this new ability.
