Reduce visual effects
If you have a low-end machine, macOS includes a lot of fancy visual effects, which might drain your system’s RAM and CPU. The effects may make your Mac run slowly, but you can easily turn them off. Here’s how to do it.
To begin, select System Preferences from the Apple menu in the Menu Bar. Then select Dock & Menu Bar from the drop-down menu. The boxes for Animate opening programs, as well as Automatically hide and show the Dock, will be unchecked.
